conveyed to the lodge how H.E.R.O.E.S CARE donated 20 gift baskets to our Lodge Auction, our largest fundraiser of the year. Lodge Auxiliary is off and running in fiscal 2021. Pictured (L-R), Jo Ann Reuther (Trustee), Kathleen Winkler (Vice President), Lynn Roeth (President), & Alicia Wittenauer (Recording Secretary).

Elks Lodge #9 Auxiliary (formerly the Ladies Auxiliary) is ready and excited to begin planning for a new beginning with continued annual events, as well as new and FUN ones in the works! Our first official meeting was held April 7th.

Meet our new Officers and Trustees! President: Lynn Roeth Vice President: Kathleen Winkler Recording Secretary: Alicia Wittenauer Corresponding Secretary: Kathy McWard Treasurer: Lucy Gabauer Trustee: Lynda Kelley Trustee: Monica Kornblum Trustee: Jo Ann Reuther.

Our mission statement says it all: “Our purpose is to enhance, serve, and support Elks Lodge #9.” The current Auxiliary roster has grown to over 40 enthusiastic and energized members! Please join us! Talk to one of our officers or trustees for more information. Membership includes Elks members and spouses/significant others. In early May, look for forms and flyers for our annual Memorial Day “In Memoriam Board” and flags placed along the driveway of the Lodge. Working in cooperation with the Americanism committee, we’ll invite local scouts to help set out the flags. A donation of $5 per name will ensure that your remembrance will be posted on boards at the entrance to the Hall of America. All the family and friends you choose to remember will be honored. In November (Veterans Day) we will do the same for current military and veterans. We also have a Summer Gift Basket Board with the winner being called at the April 30th steak night/Christmas auction! Included in the basket is a family pool membership, $100 gift certificate for the pool concession stand, 2 steak night dinners, floats, Kate Spade flip flops, straw hat and sunglasses and more! This year we will assist other committees with planning, supporting and co-sponsoring events. It’s not a competition! We’re all working toward the same goal of supporting Elks Lodge #9 and remembering that we are a benevolent organization.

Ladies Auxiliary donating to Fisher House https://www.fisherhouseinstl.org

The Ladies Auxiliary is a self-funded committee of member spouses which meet monthly in the Hall of America.

To support the Lodge, they have contributed to the purchase of the new black chairs in the lodge hall, have bought a defibrillator and case hanging in the bar room, purchased the electric stove and new microwave in the hall. In 2020, donated $500.00 to the pool to help with needed repairs for the pool opening. Their main objective is to support the lodge.

Any spouse of a lodge member or even a lodge member can join us. We currently have seven members and would like to grow our membership.  One of the functions we hosted for the families of the lodge is “Breakfast with Santa” which I believe you and your family attended.

The Ladies Auxiliary has a long history of support and goodwill at the Lodge. If you have any more questions feel free to contact Lynda Kelley.
