Saturday December 12 the Lodge #9 Golf Committee hosted a 9-hole, 2-person, 2 club scramble at Four Season Golf Course. 46 played as a way to enhance the Army Navy game that afternoon.
Ryan Jennings (Loyal Knight) and Tim Lealand set a tournament record by shooting a 3 under par 32 to trounce the 34 posted by the runner up team of Mark and Bob Dixon. In the co-ed flight, Ryan Winking and Lizzy Dixon eked out a one stroke victory over the team of Dave and Beth MacDonald (36 to 37). Thanks to the imagination of Campbell Mulvihill (aka “the closest to the pin winner on #4”), the tournament committee broke the field into equal Army and Navy teams to compete for bragging rights. So equal were the teams, that the chosen scoring mechanism (the four best Calloway adjusted scores totaled for each team) had Army (led by “Big Guns” Jennings and Leland) beating Navy 136 1/2 to 137. The Navy “anchors” of Winking and L Dixon led the congratulatory toast to Army.
